Girl Motor Top Tips to Save Money
Top Tips to Save Money on your motor insurance
- Ensure that you do not increase the value of your vehicle in the hope that in the event of a claim your insurer will pay out more than the vehicle is worth. This will not happen! Your insurer will only pay the market value of the vehicle.
- You may stand to receive significant discounts should just you or you and your wife are named on the policy. The more drivers there are, the more expensive the premium.
- In the event of a claim, you will have to pay an excess. You can volunteer to pay a higher excess and thus reduce your premium substantially
- If your vehicle is not fitted with an immobiliser, then run a quote through as though one has been fitted, to see what saving can be made to your insurance. It may be financially viable to have one fitted. Please note that most insurance companies require proof that the immobiliser has been fitted.
- Often, if your vehicle is worth over £3,000.00, it can be cheaper to insure your vehicle comprehensive, than to insure it Third Party Fire & Theft or Third Party Only.
