About Kiln
Founded in 1962, Kiln is an international insurance and reinsurance underwriting group which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. One of the company's operating subsidiaries, R J Kiln & Co. Ltd, has the capacity to underwrite nearly £350 million of premium income (net of brokerage and commissions) at present, making it one of the largest agencies trading in the unique Lloyds of London insurance market. The syndicates managed by the company enjoy a security rating of "A+ (Strong)" assigned by Standard and Poor's and "A (Excellent)" assigned by A M Best.
Kiln has managed syndicates since 1963 and has built a reputation based on the expertise, professionalism and experience of its managers and underwriters. Emphasis has always been placed on the building of strong relationships with clients and their brokers, and with their support the company has pioneered products to cover a diverse range of perils from terrorism to trade disruption and from hurricanes and earthquakes to aviation products liability insurance. The company's UK motor division, Link Insurance Services, was the first specialist retail distribution system for Lloyd's and non-Lloyd's brokers.
The company also retains an interest in a Lloyd's members' agency group, Anton Holdings Ltd.
