Elephant.co.uk - Motor Insurance

Head Elephant Puts Admiral at the Front of
the Herd

A new beast is set to enter the jungle of the motor insurance market, and at its helm will be newly appointed head elephant Tanzie Oliver.

The organisation in question, elephant.co.uk, is due to be launched. Part of the Admiral Insurance Services Limited stable, elephant.co.uk will target the 20-35 year old urban-dweller with its competitively priced policies. But it is an alternative approach that makes elephant.co.uk different, illustrated by the title Tanzie has assumed.

A veteran of eight years with the South Wales based direct insurance specialist, Tanzie had the distinction of becoming Admirals youngest manager at the age of 25 when she headed up a customer service team. Now, six years later, as head elephant she is in control of a 10-strong team of elephant handlers whose responsibility it is to make on-line car insurance a success.

"The advent of direct car insurance offered speed and convenience for the customer, but often at the expense of the personal touch," explains Tanzie. "At elephant.co.uk we aim to combine the ease of use of the Internet with a strong relationship with our customers. For example, all policy-holders will be able to chat on-line with our elephant handlers. We will not be just another faceless e-business."

Tanzies own lifestyle has influenced the off-beat elephant.co.uk culture. She has an interest in hot air ballooning, and cites the Dalai Lama and Eddie Izzard as her ideal dinner guests. Her customer services background is unusual in the field of e-commerce, but she feels it is essential to making elephant.co.uk a success.
